Ella is three weeks old today and doing great. I would not trade my new job as a mom for anything (despite its ups and downs). I never thought I would love this new life so much. Ella and I were doing great with feedings until mom got an infection and things started to spiral down. We are plugging away and doing the best we can until I recover fully. As for our little girl. She weighs 6 lbs and 10 oz and the doctor says she is perfectally healthy. She has a lot of strength for a newborn her doctor says and we can definately see this. There have been several occassions when she almost rolled over on her own! Scary how fast the time goes. I feel like she is already growing up too fast. She has been doing great with sleeping lately and infact we think she enjoys her bed a little too much. If we don't wake her to eat she could go probably the entire night. We love watching her many emotions when she is in a sound sleep. Our favorite is watching her smile. Ella enjoys when we talk to her. She will stop crying or doing whatever newborns do best when we whisper in her ear. She is so sweet. We love you sweet girl!

Ella Grace was born Friday February 25th at 7:21pm weighing 6lbs 1 oz in the midst of a snowstorm!!! She was one week early. I had my 39 week appointment and was in the doctors office when they told me I was dialated to a 4 with contractions close together (though I could not feel them), and that I had better go to the hospital. I was so nervous as this took me by suprise! My dad drove me to the hospital because James was at work at the time. I called James to tell him the news. He was so excited and such a trooper! The roads were terrible by the time he got off work and he had to shovel his way to our apartment to get us what we needed for our hospital stay. He finally made it to the hospital around 12:30pm. I was admitted into the hospital around 11:30, my MD broke my water around 2pm and then the looong wait (or what seemed like forever). Mom and dad had arrived in the afternoon and were a great support to us. As time went on my contractions grew stronger, though tolerable ,and I was able to get up and walk around to progress my labor throughout the afternoon. At 5pm I was getting tired and the contractions were begining to get real hard despite our efforts to focus on breathing techniques. The nurse asked if I was ready for an epidural or other pain medication. I decided for the epidural which was administrered around 6pm. My doctor checked me at 6:40pm and said "You're at a 9 1/2...Let's have his baby!" James and I looked at one another and were so excited. I pushed for about 45 minutes and our little bundle of joy had finally arrived. We were overjoyed with emotion and are so grateful to be parents of such a sweet little girl. The doctors were wonderful and we truely feel blessed at this time in our lives.

James and I celebrated his 27 birthday recently and had a blast! We went to eat at Dakotas Steakhouse (James favorite ofcourse) and spent time together before the arrival of our little one. It was so nice to go out on a date together. We aren't able to do it as much now that James works so hard at his job and does not spend as much time at home. I bought hime a BYU sweatshirt, dress shirt and tie and cologne. We also were able to celebrate at mom and dads house and enjoyed dinner and James favorite chocolate cake (Thanks mom and dad :o) Happy Birthday Love!

My shower cake was a big hit. Mom helped design it with our baker.

James and I went to my 20 week appointment this week and found out that we are having a little girl. We are so happy and excited. We can't wait for her arrival. What a blessing it is to know that we have been given precious gift of one of Heavenly Fathers daugthers. Everything looks "perfect" my doc. said. Our baby is about one pound and has ten fingers and toes! I'm grateful for the easy pregnancy I have had (knock on wood). I have no complaints. In fact, I often forget I am pregnant. Everything is going great for us. We are both enjoying our jobs, family both near and far and the beautiful colors of fall all around us each day. Life is good!!!

For those of you who do not already know...yes it is true. James and I are expecting our first little one! How blessed we are. We just had our first appointment last week to find out that I am 12 weeks along and due on March 7th. The appointment could not have been better. Both me and the baby are healthy as far as we could see. The exciting story of how we found out and ultrasounds pictures will be posted shortly.

Mickey and Minnie wished us a Merry Christmas in Disneyland this Christmas!

Visiting the temple on our road trip home in Nauvoo, IL. Nauvoo is one of our favorite places after having the special opportunity to visit. We enjoyed spending time on the temple grounds, taking a horse drawn carriage around the village and spending time in Carthidge.

I know it has been forever since I have written on our blog. I do apologize for those of you who actually do follow our blog :o) Great great news!!! James got a job this week. I am so proud of him. He is so smart and such a hard worker. He is the Advertising Director of NTI Global - Dogsport Magazine. He started yesterday and enjoys the job so far. We are very excited.

We've really been enjoying our time here in New York. The weather has been beautiful and the fall colors are so pretty. We are enjoying spending time with family and the change of scenery. We will keep you updated and post some pictures soon. xoxox

A vacation to remember...

James and I just returned from a fabulous vacation back east. We had a wonderful time. It was so nice to see family that we had not seen since Christmas! We did so much in the two weeks we were there. We went to the temple in Manhattan, visited Philadelphia and ran the Rock steps!!!, went to Allentown, visited little Italy, Saratoga, went to camp and went boating and fishing, horseback riding, saw my cousins from PA,visited Six Flags New England and the Saratoga County fair. Gosh I'm even tired just thinking about all the things we were able to do! On our way back to Logan we wanted to visit James family so we made a stop to Kamas for a couple of days. We were able to go on a truck ride in the truck that James grandpa built and do a fun puzzle! :o) Enjoy our photos!

Happy Fourth of July!

We just got back from a wonderful Fourth of July weekend spent with our family. James and I went down to Kamas on Friday night and went to eat with his grandpa in Midway. I had never really been to Midway, but it's such a neat little town. All of the houses are built "Swiss" style since we think the Dutch and Swiss settled the area many years ago. We ate at a great restaurant and then spent the night at James mom house. Saturday morning we got up and went to the famous Oakley parade. Another first timer for me. The weather was perfect so we then decided to join Par and Heather in Provo for a day at Seven Peaks Water Park!!! We had a lot of fun. James and I had never been there. It was nice to be with them and celebrate the holiday. At night, Par and Heather went to the Stadium of Fire and James and I attended the festival held on Center Street in Provo. We haven't really been back to Provo since we lived there so it was fun to visit our old stompin' grounds! And of course the 4th would not be complete without lighting off fireworks right?? We bought fireworks and lit some in their neighborhood! Thanks guys for a great weekend! We love you both! (Pics to come soon!)

A tribute to Mother's...

James and I wanted to express how grateful we are for our Mothers. We now have two and are grateful for both of them. This Mother's Day we were able to go down to Kamas and spend a few days with James mom, sister and grandparents. We had a lot of fun. We saw a movie and then on Sunday we had a Mother's Day cookout. The food was excellent and all of us agreed that it had definately been too long since we last grilled. That is one of our favorite parts of summer. We missed mom this year, but she was able to come out a few weeks ago and visit. We had a great time. Thank you Mother's for all you do. We love you!

Well...it's official. Ethan entered the MTC yesterday at 1:00pm. He will be there for 3 weeks until he leaves to enter his mission field in Kennewick, Washington. We had a wonderful day together. Although, rushed, everything went wonderful. James and I were able to drive down and be with him as well as a special visit from Brother Field. We had a spiritual day together and it was wonderful to see Eth go. He seemed a little nervous and said he'd miss home, but he knows it's the right thing for him at this time in his life. He was happy and that made us happy to see him go. We love him and are so proud of him. Enjoy some of our pictures!

James and I decided we have begun to have "cabin fever". The weather in Logan all of last week was rainy and cold. But we were suprised this morning when we woke up to beautiful sunshine and birds chirping! After church and the Jazz game we decided to take a stroll down to first dam and walk by the water. Afterwards, we had a special treat this evening! We just got back from listening to Elder Groberg. He did a fireside up here in Logan. James and I had a great time and loved the message that was shared. "Strengthen your lives by building up the Kingdom of God in all that you do." He told us that the light of Christ can shine in love and in life if we open our hearts contiously to it each and everyday. What a blessing it is to be members of this church and to be sealed to James forever. We have enjoyed eachothers company so much lately and look forward to our lives together. Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! What a relaxing weekend! My mom flew in from New York to spend a week with us. We've been having such a nice time with her. She flew in on Friday night. We didn't do much but pick her up from the airport and head to bed after getting back to Logan. Her flight got in pretty late so there wasn't much time for anything else. On Saturday, the three of us went to Petsmart to show mom what James and I do once a month for service. James and I love to do service together. It's a great experience. After that, we went to dinner at Wingers! A favorite of James! And mom didn't think it was too bad either. Then came Easter! What a wonderful time we had. We all enjoyed church together, especially the wonderful talks that were given about our Saviors resurrection and the atonement. We all enjoyed reflecting and spending time together. Our Easter dinner was pretty good. However, since James and I have an oven made for midgets the food didn't come out quite as expected. Ah...the joys of life at Aggie Village! It won't last forever though, so we definitely enjoy our time together being poor college students. After Easter dinner we went on a walk since the weather here was so beautiful on Sunday. It was really nice. Mom had never seen "7 pounds" (a definite must see -- at least once) so we watched that together too! We love having mom here and are grateful for her making the trip all this way to see us!
James is also so excited for Wednesday evening. Our ward men's basketball team will be playing in the championship game. Mom and I are excited to watch him play. He has never won a championship game since being up at college so we're excited to cheer him on!

I want to post really quickly about my little brother Ethan. He just received his mission call today!!!! He will be serving a 2 year mission for our church. He got called to serve in the Kennewick, Washington mission. Congratulations Ethan! We love you and are so very proud of you. Your a wonderful example to our family.

Our favorite time of year is hands down....CHRISTMAS! We especially love the opportunity we have to serve others and spend time with the people we love. This year is was Christmas in New York! We had a great time there and really enjoyed seeing our family. However, we missed out on seeing Aaron and Ashley. They flew to Denver this year to visit her family. We missed them, but had a wonderful time at home. We did so much...we saw "Marley and Me", drove to Pennsylvania to visit our cousins, went to Hershey Park, ate LOTS OF PIZZA (a definate must do in NY), played games, walked the dogs and spent time together. It was a lot of fun to see how Dad and Mom re did our family room also. Looks great! :) Over New Year's we spent time in California with the other half of our family. James mom treated us to 5 days in Disneyland for her Christmas gift to us! We had a fun time in Disney! It was new to all of us to see Disneyland decorated for Christmas. The park was so pretty! We had quite the holiday traveling coast to coast and are grateful our travels were safe. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday. We are so grateful for our lives and the wonderful people who share it with us.Here are some pictures of our trip...

Kirst's Birthday!!
The big 2-5! I can't belive I am 25. Time just flies by. I had a wonderful birthday. James and I celebrated by going out to dinner at Hamilton's and to see Twilight. He is so sweet to me and made my day really special. I love you babe! I recieved so many beautiful cards and gifts from family and friends. Needles and me will never mix!!
Well...I survived. Thanks to James, I did it. I went in on my own free will and finished my Hepatitus series and tetanus. I reiceved 3 shots in one day! That is a lot for me but I'm so glad it's over. Let me just tell you the funny incident that happened that wasn't so funny at the time. Yesterday James and Iwent to health clinic so I could get some vaccines that I really needed. The minute we walked through the doors of the clinic it hit me! You know..that smell of doctors. It makes me queezy and light headed. James was so good to me and so supporitive. He used to be terrified of needles to so he understands my pain. After what seemed like forever the nurse walked out and called "kirsten preece" I was never so nervous to hear my own name called. I walked the walk of death..or what felt like that. I knew from the minute I saw her that it wasn't going to be good. She was that "butch" nurse that everyone is afraid of. We walked into the patient room and I immediately told her I had to leave and could not get these shots. I think I sak the needles on the counter and it freaked me out. She immediately grabbed my arm and got mad and said "SIT DOWN". It was terrible. I would not stop moving and was trying to leave. Talk about embarrassing. I felt like I had no control. I asked her if Icould take a minute and just calm down and work on breathing normal and she did not like that either. She repeated "SIT DOWN NOW" and told me she couldn't hit a moving target. Now how is that supposed to make me feel better?? Well....it didn't! James kept telling me to calm down and jsut look at him and finally I did. I sat there and let her have her way with me....haha! I know a lot of you will think I'm nuts but I seriously have a phobia of needles. I hate them. They just scare me. EW! But I'm done with that and don't have to go back for about 8 years! WHOOOOO HOOO!!!! :)

We hope everyone had as nice of a thanksgiving as we did! James and I went down to his family's house in Kamas this year. Our holiday was filled with love, laughter and lots of FOOD! We had a lot of fun down there and definately overate! But since eating and memories are the requirement for having a wonderful holiday we can proudly say we fulfilled that this Thanksgiving! All of his family came in from various states which means all of his little counsins--who are so fun to play with! We counted about 39 people at this festivity. We enjoyed watching three movies this year, shopping at 12am at the Park City outlets (a first and a last time for that), playing Tetris, games and spending time together! We love spending time with family especially around the holidays! Thank you everyone for the wonderful time that was had. We love all of you!

As many of your know, I love home and I love my family so very much. James was so nice and encouraged me to come home to visit over UEA and while I could have the time of from work so... I'm in currently in New York with out James :(. But I'm having a wonderful time with my family. I haven't been home for autumn in 6 years! Unbelieveable. The leaves here are beautiful. I will post pictures soon! Tonight my family and I went on the Haunted Hayrides and old tradition of my family. It was a lot of fun. Tm in the morning I'm going with my mom to visit my brother and his wife (my sister)! I'm so excited to see them. There isn't anything like home is there?? It's one of the best feelings in the world. I'm so grateful for my husband, family and friends. Life is wonderful and I know James and I are truely blessed to have such wonderful support and love and encouragement in our lives. Conference weekend is one of mine and James favorite weekends of the year! We love listening to the council of the leaders of our church and spending time with family and friends. This weekend we came down to Orem to spend time with James family and our friends from Las Vegas...Chris, Mandy and Macey. James Parley and Chris love to get together to talk sports and have brotherly time. Chris is their adopted brother. It's fun to see them together since that doesn't happen very often. On Saturday James' mom and sister Brooke came down to meet us for a movie. We saw Eagle Eye...very intense but definitely worth the 2 hours of your time. We love our families and friends so much. I have been meaning to post this on our blog for a while now. Glenn Beck is a popular tv/radio host. I enjoy listening to him and his views. Many of you know him as the crazy, off color things he might say...but he changed his ways and is now a member of our church. This happened years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed what he said about our beloved prophet President Gordon B. Hinckley and wanted to post this so everyone who hasn't seen it can. At Giorgios

This year James and I celebrated our anniversary on Balboa Island and Newport Beach...what a treat! We were very excited to get away after a long summer James being away a lot for work. It was so nice to get away and spend time together. We ate dinner at a really nice italian resturaunt on Balboa Island called Giorgios. It was delicious!

Jersey Shore

When James and I headed to New York this summer my family decided to take a trip to the Jersey Shore. Growing up our family took several vacations to Cape Cod but never the beach in Jersey...enjoy the pics from our trip!
